Star coupler - In telecommunications, a star coupler is a passive optical coupler having a number of input and output ports, used in network applications.
Passive optical network - A Passive Optical Network (PON) is a fiber to the premises configuration in which unpowered optical splitters are used to enable a single optical fiber to serve multiple premises, typically 32.
